Hey guys, I wasn't able to find the answer to this question in the manual so I thought I would post it here. I am confused with out the glossy reflection works. Could some one explain the purpose of this to me? This is my understanding of it so far. We have the reflective coating to simulate a clearcoat effect/a primary reflection that is controlled by a brdf curve/ior curve. Then there is the glossy reflection-which I believe could act more as a secondary diffuse reflection, but I don't see any sort of brdf curve control? It it just a constant reflection across the surface, or is there a way to control it's brdf?

For instance, if I wanted to make a simple concrete or wood material with no clearcoat, nothing fancy. In the Arch and Des. material, I would set a reflectivity level, control it with an ior and set a glossy value. How would I do this with the iray material? Would I use the reflection parameter, define the ior, set the roughness and then disable diffuse glossiness or would I ignore the reflection and just use the glossy parameter?

I do see the presets, but I don't understand why some settings are used and not others.

Sorry for such a confusing post, any further clarification on how to use the reflection/glossy parameters would be very helpful.
