    Default MR Displacementand Proxies

    Hi,
    I'm working on an abtract short http://vimeo.com/46191052
    with heavy use of animated displacement maps. I used the adsk displ. container to scale and distort these moving things. Besides long rendertimes I permantly run into render errors like this: -> error

    looks lije the max tesselation is not sufficient to do its job? anybody experienced with this 'blown' displacements?

    I tried a lot fiddling around with the displace parameters and I wasn't able to find a satisfory solution( for all frames in the sequence!!!). So I switched to MR-Proxies in the hope of getting rid of the long rendertimes.
    But as I am using a 2010 max 32 bit it crashed after a while. I was able to continue the proxy generation, but max refused to name them correctly. for example: MR crashed after Frame 93- So I reopened the file and startet with frame 94. But MR is naming the first frame 'name.0000.mib'- So I put them in another directory, rename them, put them back into place. As my thing grows MR could only complete 10-15 frames. Let's say I want to do 1000 frames, you can imagine how painful this procedure is.

    I downloaded the 2013 testversion and first thing I notice that they have abandoned the adsk utility shaders- sigh! I found that hot chips Shader Utility- looks like a great tool- check it out- could convert old shaders.
    Creating Proxies now used all my RAM, but something is wrong with the converted shaders:
    -> converted

    Any help is highly appreciated, many thanks
    Martin
