    Default Iray and hair

    hi i was wondering if Iray works with the system of 3dmax hair and fur? I do not know what I'm doing wrong but I can not see the hair.

    I would like to test it myself but have not had a chance yet. Did you set the hair to "Geometry" in the effects settings?

    hey i tried that for a mate with fur on it, yes it works, but it takes hell lot of time to start render. so if ur scene is very heavy n complex, i dnt think it will be possible for you to use hair and fur.

    I'm doing this another way:

    After setting up pleasant hair I use Convert to Mesh option, and disable Hair&Fur Modifier on original object.

    That way I get another 3D mesh - which works far more faster than generated Hair&Fur.

    The disadvantage is that if ou want to chenge something in hair you have to re-generate Mesh from Hair&Fur modifier.

    Can anyone recommend a material to make hair soft and shiny using iray set to geometry or hair converted to mesh as mentioned above?
