Hi, I'm curious if you anyone has suggestions for a mental ray for maya 2011 64-bit shader which would allow me to render an image I could use as a reflection map or ibl?

I've come up empty after trying several shaders online such as js_panoramic, lat_long_lens which inside of the zip is still js_panoramic, cubemap_lens. They either are not compiled for 64-bit or don't seem to function in maya 2011.

A depository of mental ray for maya shaders that are good would be cool too. I'm aware of creativecrash.com (highend3d) and mymentalray.

Thanks for any tips or shaders!
Sean

Hi. I am fairly new to compiling mental ray shaders. I recently recompiled JS_Panoramic (http://www.andrewhazelden.com/files/2011/February/JS_panoramic_for_Windows_64-bit.zip), latlong_lens (http://www.andrewhazelden.com/files/2011/January/latlong_lens_shader_for_Windows_x64.zip), and cubemap_lens (http://www.andrewhazelden.com/files/2011/January/cubemap_lens_shader_for_Windows_x64.zip) environment shaders for Windows 64-bit. They work well with Maya 2011 x64.

Note: The Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=bd512d9e-43c8-4655-81bf-9350143d5867) is required.

Your latlong shader even works with maya 2012, great work!

However, could you take a look at it for me? I want to use it as a spherical image, and there seems to be a small cross-over problem at the very top of the image.

Hi. I just did a quick test with a textured cube in Maya 2012 and the latlong lens shader. Here is a link to the scene files latlong_cube_test.zip (http://www.andrewhazelden.com/files/2011/July/latlong_cube_test.zip)

After I rendered the camera with the lens shader attached, I made a new scene and assigned the spherical file texture to a surface shader material on a new polygon sphere. It looked okay to me in both the perspective view and the render view.

If you want you could attach a screenshot of your issue, or send me a PM with a copy of your Maya scene and I will investigate further.
