    Default Displacement Mental Ray

    The reflections on my object look fine without the displacement map, but when I add in the displacement map it seems that I can actually see the subdivisions that take place at the render. Any reason why the reflections look so subdivided? I have attached the images to this post.

    Your base geometry is a poly mesh ? Or smooth mesh, NURBS surface...

    It is a poly mesh, in 3 mode so I guess that would make it a smooth mesh?

    Can you tell me where did you create the displacement map?
