Default Iray+ Material Libraries download URL

    Hi Everyone,

We're pleased to make the full material library available for you to download. This is the complete material collection and includes all of the evaluation materials that come with the Iray for 3ds Max plugin.

    Ceramic.zip
    Composites.zip
    Concrete.zip
    Emission.zip
    Fabric.zip
    Flooring.zip
    Gems.zip
    Glass.zip
    InteriorWalls.zip
    Liquids.zip
    Masonry.zip
    Metals.zip
    Miscellaneous.zip
    Organic.zip
    Paint.zip
    PaperCard.zip
    Plastics.zip
    Roofing.zip
    Site.zip
    Stone.zip
    Stucco.zip
    Vegetation.zip
    Wood.zip

Once downloaded, the zip files can be located anywhere on your machine. We recommend that you right-click on each of the libraries and "Extract Here." This will place all of the textures inside a single "Iray+ Textures" folder that you can add to your user path in Customize->Configure User Paths->External Files. You can safely delete any user paths to the evaluation content directory.

And to note, this is the most up-to-date version of the materials provided (originally with the Iray for 3ds Max Beta.) We look forward to any feedback that you have on the collections themselves, collections you think are missing and the way we deliver the collections.

Please click here to browse the Material Samples.

    Thanks!!

    Hi,

I'm new both to the iray and the forum. I'm currently trying it out as a 90 day free trail that is offered. I'm having problems with materials showing up in slate editor. I add the user paths via Customize->Configure User Paths->External Files and then when I go to material editor and open a library all materials within it show as ( Missing material ). First I installed vMaterials and tried opening one of those libraries and than I tried adding materials by downloading them from here and I got the same results both times - ( Missing material ).

Can someone help me with this or direct me to a thread that talks about this problem because in my search I couldn't find one.

    Best wishes,
    Ljubomir

    Hi Ljubomir,

It sounds like the MDL path may not be properly configured. In Render Setup, choose Iray+ as your renderer, and go to the Settings tab. You'll find a section at the bottom for MDL search paths. Please confirm that it points to the location of your vMaterials.
