    Default STANDARD IRAY Integration

Autodesk gives us the possibility to collaborate with ideas for future versions of 3dsmax. We have requested the integration of the latest version of Iray (not Iray +) with support for pascal GPU's, intancing and ActiveShade architecture. Help us by voting our request:

    Thank you!

That's a nice, but I don't think this will be possible.
Nvidia will need to touch Iray code to get support of latest Iray core with support of Pascal GPU's.
And because Nvidia already have Iray+ - I will not hold my breath on this one.

But someone from Nvidia could explain is this possible at all and will be this happen.
    It's not only Adsk task.

    Best!

I prefer to work with iray + because at least for further development!
I also think the integration in max will certainly be even better
It is also a lot faster when rendering than iray!
    This is my opinion

    regards Bernd

At the moment Iray win on Integration side against Iray+.
Iray+ needs badly for some more deep integration into 3ds Max.
    Simple example - Undo operation.

I also prefer Iray+ for work.

Pascal GPUs are already supported in Mental Ray Iray in the latest 3ds Max 2017 update.

I guess you mean the Iray + updates?

I was referring to the standard version of Iray (not Iray +): The MentalRay / Iray version (which is installed separately) in 3ds Max 2017.

This one has some errors that make it "unusable" in some aspects.

Old scenes (max 2016) are not rendered correctly (IDS material varies between objects), the lights are always visible generating shadows, although they are not visible ...

We continue working on the 2016 version because of this instability.

That's precisely what I was referring to - the Iray mode of mental ray that ships as part of 3ds Max itself.
It supports Pascal with the latest 3ds Max 2017 update. We have no signs from Autodesk of them updating previous releases.

    Thank you Phil,

We will test it soon, in the download area of Autodesk 3ds Max I have not seen any MentalRay update. But there may be.

Is it possible that it is only available to subscribers?

    I ray+ have 2 bugs:
    1. Sun And Sky unable to reduce saturation.
    2. Object id dont have filtering.
For this bugs that software is unable for my work.
