Default gtx 1080 ti mental ray gpu rendering

    Hi,

I already have a gtx titan x which works well with mental ray gpu rendering (GI next). I would like to know if the last update from MR will do the job for the last nvidia cards (1080 ti for example). The sticky post on top of the page talks about Iray support but not about MR GI next). Do Iray and MR use the same kind of algo for rendering and can we suppose MR will use the cudas from the 1080ti?

And can I put those 2 cards together?

I had a look at that test and it looks like you won't get exactly the double performance if you put 2 same cards...

    thanks

Could someone from nvidia answer that?

    Thanks

Do you mean for the release of Mental Ray for 3ds Max 2018 that we just put out?

Or the Mental Ray within 3ds Max 2017?

Note also that GI Next use of GPU could be scene dependent, and scales linearly if there is enough global illumination work to do relatively.

If you're asking about support for Pascal GPUs - all of our shipping products now support the Pascal generation.

    I was talking about MR 3.14.1.4 whithin 3dsmax 2017.
Does it support the last nvidias card like the gtx 1080ti ? Do you plan to do some benchmark as chaos group did for gpu rendering? So we could know exactly what kind of gpus are better for us with MR.

    thanks

So does MR 3.14.1.4 within 3dsmax 2017 support gtx 1080i? The answer was not clear...

    thanks

Yes, that is in the Pascal generation that Phil is referencing.

ok thanks! I wasn't sure if MR 3.14.1.4 in 3dsmax 2017 could use them.
