Lightbulb Quixel Megascan Materials with Iray and MDL

    Hi,

here is some food for easy creation and Iray rendering of the Quixel Megascan materials.

You can use the attached custom MDL file, which implements a PBR material that is specifically crafted
for the Megascan "specular/roughness" material model, and their displacement maps (centered around 50% grey).
That makes it very convenient to attach the corresponding map coming with Megascans' downloads.
All the layering and scaling math behind it is already implemented in the MDL code.

Just copy the MDL file to your global shared MDL folder under "user_material" (or any other folder name),
and any MDL capable software should be able to find it and pick it up. I created and tested in Iray for Cinema 4D.

Let me know if it works for you. Happy rendering
    Steffen

See below some screenshots of Iray for Cinema 4D using the sample Megascans.
